While studying acting and film making Derrick Judge Early also studied Illustration at Parsons School of Design in New York City, New York and received an award from the Society of Illustrators for his student work.

 

In the 1980s, he owned and operated Irenagrad Gallery, a wholesale art production and distribution company.  His work was commissioned by corporate clients such as the Federal Aviation Administration, and was added to many private collections.  His pieces were also shown at prestigious art galleries including New Orleans’ Gallery Royale.

 

In the 1990s, he went to work for Twilight Studios, a small independently owned advertising agency while still studying acting.

 

Derrick currently works as a freelance artist, actor, and independent filmmaker.   He has written and produced two award winning independent films and is working on his third.

 His art work has been published by many different magazines, book publishers, and mass-market poster companies.  He and his wife Laurie live and work in Manhattan.  They have two daughters.
